Another Wet, Muddy Day, But Camp Goes On!

Following awesome grilled hamburgers, potato wedges, and scrumptious strawberry shortcake for lunch, rain showers decided to camp out over Shakamak for a couple of hours. Since there has been no lightning to threaten the campers, camp has continued as scheduled with the addition of even MORE MUD!  Remember, yesterday’s motto was MORE MUD = MORE FUN, so everyone’s truly having a BLAST today. 😉   Rain and mud haven’t slowed down kickball and volleyball, and the rain has added an interesting element to the campers’ first chance to embark on Lake Shakamak for canoeing. Fortunately with the schedule rotations, campers are getting a little “dry” time in the rec hall and mess hall for lip sync practice (we’ll offer more discussion on lip sync in the upcoming days as we’ll keep this year’s lip sync theme a surprise for a little while longer) and team time (for additional lip sync practice, craft time, etc.).

We’re getting occasional breaks from the rain, but if we can continue to endure today, the forecast looks like we’ll dry out over the next several days. Whatever weather comes our way, MSC campers are tough and willing to endure the best of situations and the worst of situations all for the sake of fun and togetherness.
