Tuesday!!

We apologize for the delay! There have been some technical difficulties on this end! We had an exciting day here at MSC Jr. Week!

Every year, our director, Ben, challenges campers to follow directions and get quiet at the appropriate times. When successful, he will drink from the slop bucket at the end of the week. Ben has tried tirelessly to keep a tally of campers and staff who don’t want him to drink the slop on Thursday. However, our compadres and campers had a different idea! Kolter Sokeland (shadow director) has also been roped into the competition!

Today’s Activities

Sports director Drew Maudlin is always finding new activities for the campers to enjoy. This year, campers got to experience Battleship, Friendly Feud, and Hungry Hippos.

Craft director Katie Awaad and her wonderful team had some more exciting crafts today! Campers made tie-dye hats and leather bracelets!

Campers also enjoyed indoor games and minute-to-win-it with their age groups.

Bible Study

Whitney Hill led the girls in a bible study today , continuing thoughts on “Fearless.” She reminded the girls that their were many in the bible who were afraid like Elijah, Jacob, and Peter. Psalm 103:14 shows us that God knows that we get afraid, but 1 Peter 5:7 tells us what to do with our fear-give it to God. We are reminded through the example of David that God will lead us through our fear.

Cory Hill led the boy’s bible study with the example of Elijah in 1 Kings 19. He reminds the boys that we have fears we can control. There are times we can’t control and fear takes over, but we can pray to God and look to Him.

Brandon Hawk led us in evening services. Did you know the phrase, “do not be afraid,” is used around 369 times in the bible! He used the example of Timothy in 2 Timothy 1 and how he displayed the attitude of fearlessness. Courage can be obtained when…

  1. We receive God’s grace
  2. Have Godly friendships
  3. Read our bible’s daily

Surprise Team Event

Campers were surprised with a team event right before dinner. Teams, captains, and compadres participated in a talent show with various challenges to show off their skills.

LYC Event

The last year campers had a paint war on the sports field to celebrate them as they transition to senior camp!
