Tuesday Morning Flag Pole Talk

Tres Barker led our morning flag pole devotional this morning.
In the beginning of Jeremiah (1:5), God tells him, I knew you before you were born.  Isaiah 49.5 teaches that God “Formed me in the Womb”
Paul tells the Galatians (1:15) that God “Set me apart before I was born”
To the church in Ephesus he writes to them (1:3-4) “Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world”
I picture it this way…God gathers our soul when it is our turn on Earth.  He puts his arm around us and he whispers  in our ear “I want to see you again”.
All humans are born with an internal desire to connect to a higher plane.  We, as Christians know it’s God at work!
I want you to walk away this morning knowing that you were Born for this, You were born to Hope. Do you realize that Hope has a present day action with an expected future outcome?  I currently hope,  I look to fulfillment later.
I hope you have a great day – I hope you understand just how much I care – I hope my teacher doesn’t give a pop quiz – I hope I get that varsity spot – I hope to get to Heaven.
Romans 8:24-25: For in hope we’re saved: But hope that is seen is not hope: for who hopeth for that which he seeth? But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
It’s a DAILY hope.  It’s DAILY work.
Phil 3:13-14 I count not myself yet ot have laid hold: but one thing I do, forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before.  I press on toward the goal unto the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
We are driven by that Whisper which drives our hope – Remember: God wants to see us again.  Our Hope is present tense – Our Hope is alive.
I Peter 1:3-4
If our hope is present and alive, it should shine from us!
Why do you have hope? You were born to hope!  You have hope because God wants to see you again! You were born to hope to hear your name read from the book of life.  You were born to hope to hear “Well done”.  You were born to hope for eternal peace and glory.  You were born to Hope because God wants to see you again someday!
