Wrapping Up MSC Sr. Week Day 1

Following the MSC “Talentless” Night, the campers were dismissed to the lower sports field for singing camp songs under the stars. What a joyful noise to the Lord!!!!! To welcome the first year Sr. Week campers, the last year and next-to-last year Cabin 10 males went to the first year Cabin 4 boys’ cabin to meet them, welcome them to camp, to offer their assistance anytime throughout the week to make this their best camp experience ever, and they treated them to some cookies for a bedtime snack. Likewise, the last year and next-to-last-year Cabin 11 females visited the first year Cabin 1 girls to buddy up with the younger campers, last year camper Kat Turk led the two groups in a devotion, and they treated the girls to a bedtime snack of ice cream sandwiches and cookies. This is what camp is all about–establishing friendships with young people of like precious faith that will likely last a lifetime.  What a moving sight to see the last year campers take the first year campers under their wings!

Reflecting on the first day of MSC Sr. Week 2013, it was a wet and muddy day, but it was an AWESOME day!!!!! Rain delayed the schedule of events a little following lunch, but despite an occasional shower following the downpour during lunch, the day ran extremely smooth and everyone had a great time, everyone displayed EXTREMELY great sportsmanship, many new friendships were made, and everyone was blessed to be encouraged by one another’s presence and participation! As we say goodnight from Shakamak State Park on Monday, July 1, please enjoy the campers singing “We Shall Assemble.”
