Every evening at dinner, the compadres present special awards called “Paper Plate Awards”. They reserve this recognition for when they see special actions that encourage everyone. Each day during camp, the camp staff awards a special Golden Dustpan Award for the cleanest cabin. Monday’s winners were cabin 4 for the girls and cabin 8 for the boys. Parents, you should start to expect this level of cleanliness at home too because now you know they have it in them!
Campers began the sports events this morning with teams playing volleyball, basketball, soccer and kickball. Each team will get to play each sport twice over the next two days. Morning activities started right after cabin clean-up and one of the many activities campers do here is crafts. Ms. Dayna, our craft director, has some amazing things planned this year. Campers are making yarn art, leather bands, bubble blowing canisters and fortune cookie cuffs and team glitter gel. The kids are loving it!
